Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef arrived in Apia, Samoa, today to participate in the 27th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2024. He is leading a high-level delegation representing the Maldives at the international summit.
Upon landing at Faleolo International Airport, Vice President Hussain was welcomed by Samoan Minister for Police and Prisons Hon. Faualo Harry Jeffrey Schuster and Maldives’ High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr. Iruthisham Adam.
During his visit, the Vice President is scheduled to engage in several high-level discussions, addressing pressing global challenges. He will also attend the Commonwealth Business Forum, where he will meet with world leaders to discuss key issues and explore opportunities to strengthen bilateral relations.
In addition to his participation in the business forum, Vice President Hussain is expected to deliver interventions during the Executive Sessions of the CHOGM, focusing on the Maldives’ role in international affairs.
