The President was invited by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, to join the summit, which gathers leaders from across the Islamic world to address the ongoing crisis in Palestinian territories and Lebanon due to escalating Israeli aggression.
The summit, held in Riyadh, follows a previous joint Arab-Islamic summit on November 11, 2023, and seeks to further unify Arab and Islamic nations in response to recent hostilities. President Muizzu, accompanied by a high-level delegation from the Maldives, will engage in discussions focusing on regional stability, peace, and justice for the Palestinian people, a cause that he has publicly supported.
Throughout his administration, President Muizzu has been vocal about his support for Palestinian rights, consistently condemning Israel’s military actions in both Palestinian territories and Lebanon. His stance reflects the Maldives’ strong commitment to advocating for peace and supporting the Palestinian people’s aspirations for freedom and justice.
