India to Continue Supporting Maldives’ Development, Says Outgoing Ambassador

Indian Ambassador to the Maldives, Munu Mahawar, paid a farewell visit to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, reaffirming India’s commitment to supporting the Maldives’ development initiatives.

During the meeting, President Muizzu expressed gratitude for Ambassador Mahawar’s efforts to strengthen the ties between the two nations. He acknowledged that the ambassador’s tenure had further deepened the longstanding friendship between the Maldives and India.

Ambassador Mahawar assured the President of India’s unwavering cooperation in advancing the Maldives’ development goals. Both sides highlighted the importance of President Muizzu’s recent state visit to India, during which key agreements were signed to bolster economic reforms and promote social welfare in the Maldives.

The discussion also touched on India’s ongoing support in implementing several developmental projects in the Maldives. The President and the Ambassador agreed on the importance of maintaining and enhancing this collaborative momentum in the future.

As Ambassador Mahawar prepares to depart, President Muizzu extended his best wishes and expressed his eagerness to work closely with the incoming Indian ambassador to further strengthen bilateral relations.
