President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has concluded a two-day tour of islands in Kaafu and Alifu Alifu Atolls, during which he engaged with community members, local councils, and Women’s Development Committees (WDCs) to discuss pressing development priorities and address local needs.
The tour featured visits to several islands, where the President met with residents and conducted assessments of essential facilities, including health centres and schools, observing their current conditions firsthand. These engagements highlighted key areas requiring government attention to improve infrastructure and services.
The trip aligns with President Muizzu’s pledge earlier this year to personally meet with all island councils in the Maldives. With the conclusion of his latest tour, he has now completed discussions with representatives from 185 councils across the country, reaffirming his commitment to understanding and addressing the concerns of communities nationwide.
Accompanying the President on the tour was a high-level delegation comprising senior government officials, underscoring the administration’s focus on fostering dialogue with local leaders and prioritizing island development initiatives.
President Muizzu’s administration continues to emphasize direct engagement with communities as a cornerstone of its governance strategy, aiming to ensure that development efforts align with the unique needs of every island.
