President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu embarked on an official two-day visit to South Ari Atoll this afternoon, continuing his nationwide efforts to engage with local councils and communities.
The visit includes scheduled stops at Dhan’gethi, Mahibadhoo, and Omadhoo, where the President will hold discussions with Island Councils and Women’s Development Committees. These meetings are a vital part of the administration’s commitment to fostering dialogue with local representatives and addressing the specific needs and concerns of island communities.
This tour marks a significant milestone in the President’s consultation programme, launched earlier this year, aimed at strengthening ties between the central government and local councils. With this latest visit, the President has now engaged in discussions with representatives from 185 councils across the Maldives.
President Muizzu is accompanied by a high-level government delegation, reflecting the administration’s priority on inclusive governance and direct community engagement.
This trip underscores the administration’s emphasis on fostering collaboration with local bodies to ensure that development efforts align with the unique challenges faced by island communities.
Further updates on the outcomes of this visit will be shared as the President concludes his engagements in South Ari Atoll.
