Deceased Man Found in Malé Guesthouse

The body of a 59-year-old man was discovered in the bathroom of a guesthouse in the Henveiru ward of Malé City on Thursday afternoon.

According to a statement issued by the Maldives Police Service, authorities were alerted to the incident at around 2 p.m. Upon arrival at the scene, emergency responders transported the man to the hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

The deceased has been identified as Abdulla Zaki, a resident of Bokarumaage, Hulhudhoo in Addu City.

Police have confirmed that an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death is underway. No further details have been released at this time.

The incident has raised concerns among residents, as authorities work to determine the cause of death.
