As part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Bank of Maldives (BML) has extended its support to Special Education Needs (SEN) classes at Salahudheen School and Hiriya School. The assistance, announced on the International Day of Education, includes the refurbishment of classrooms and the donation of educational tools designed to enhance interactive learning for students with special needs.
The initiative is expected to directly benefit approximately 200 students, fostering a more engaging and supportive learning environment through play-and-learn methods.
“This development is part of BML’s broader community investment strategy,” the bank stated. Over the years, the bank has supported 40 schools nationwide by providing essential educational resources.
BML’s contributions to education extend beyond these two schools. The bank has previously funded the establishment of a therapy room at Imadhudheen School and has modernized computer laboratories in schools across the Maldives’ atolls.
These efforts reflect BML’s commitment to inclusivity and accessibility in education, ensuring that students with special needs receive the tools and resources necessary for a fulfilling learning experience.
The initiative aligns with global efforts to promote education for all, marking the International Day of Education as a platform to emphasize the importance of equitable access to learning opportunities.
