President Muizzu Extends New Year Greetings to Chinese Leadership

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed warm greetings to the leadership and people of China on the occasion of the Spring Festival and Chinese New Year. In separate letters addressed to President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, he extended heartfelt felicitations from the Maldivian government and its citizens.

Reaffirming the Maldives’ commitment to the One-China Principle, President Muizzu emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral ties for the mutual benefit of both nations. He also underscored the significance of enhancing the China-Maldives Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership to further solidify the longstanding relationship between the two countries.

In his message, the President wished good health and well-being for President Xi and Premier Li, along with continued prosperity for the people of China. The diplomatic ties between the Maldives and China, established in 1972, have since grown into a robust partnership across multiple sectors.

Additionally, President Muizzu shared a message on his official ‘X’ account to mark the occasion, reiterating his best wishes to China as it welcomes the Year of the Dragon.
