Women’s empowerment and community participation were also central to the discussions. The WDC highlighted the necessity of greater support for women-led initiatives and improved access to social services. The President acknowledged these concerns and emphasized the government’s focus on inclusive development that benefits all citizens.

Uligamu, a strategically located northern island, has significant potential for economic growth, particularly in tourism and maritime industries. Recognizing this, the President and his delegation explored opportunities to enhance local livelihoods through targeted investments and infrastructure improvements.

The visit to Uligamu is part of the President’s broader efforts to engage directly with island communities and ensure that development initiatives align with their most urgent needs. His administration continues to emphasize regional development as a cornerstone of national progress, with a particular focus on decentralization and equitable resource distribution.
