In a heartfelt message marking the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu extended warm greetings from the Government and people of the Maldives to the leaders and citizens of Islamic countries worldwide.
The President’s message, addressed to the foreign leaders of various Islamic nations, described Ramadan as a time of spiritual reflection, renewal, and unity. He emphasized the significance of this month, which inspires not only a strengthening of faith but also deepens compassion and generosity toward one another.
President Muizzu expressed his hope that the bonds of friendship between the Maldives and other Islamic nations would grow stronger during this sacred period. He prayed for the blessings of peace, good health, and prosperity for the leaders and citizens of these countries throughout Ramadan and beyond.
Furthermore, in his message, the President took the opportunity to highlight the ongoing plight of the Palestinian people. He called upon the global Muslim community, or Ummah, to increase efforts to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza. President Muizzu urged for a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian cause, one that ensures self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, based on the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The President’s Ramadan message reflects not only the Maldives’ commitment to fostering unity within the Muslim community but also its ongoing support for Palestine in its struggle for justice and peace.
