This amendment brings the total amount of aid provided by the US to the Maldives under the DOAG to $45.7 million. The agreement aims to enhance the Maldives’ technical capacity in managing public finances and to strengthen its economic and democratic governance.

In recent years, the financial support from the US has seen a gradual increase, reflecting the growing partnership between the two nations. The ceremony was attended by officials from both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the USAID Mission to the Maldives, underscoring the importance of this collaboration.

This significant boost in funding is expected to further support the Maldives in achieving its developmental objectives and improving governance structures.
