First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has strongly condemned the attack on Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) activist Mariyam Zubair, after she was splashed with black oil in an apparent act of political intimidation.
In a statement on her official ‘X’ account, the First Lady denounced such attacks, emphasizing that harassment and acts of violence have no place in society. She called for restraint and justice, urging all parties to avoid escalating tensions and to allow the legal process to take its course.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion, with political activists and rights groups voicing concerns over increasing hostility in the political landscape. Authorities have yet to confirm whether an official investigation has been launched into the attack.
