In addition to these engagements, he held a series of bilateral meetings with heads of state and government representatives, strengthening diplomatic ties and exploring new avenues for cooperation.

In a key highlight of the trip, President Muizzu met with the Maldivian community residing in New York, offering insights into his administration’s efforts and reaffirming his commitment to the welfare of Maldivians abroad.

Before wrapping up his visit, President Muizzu delivered an address at Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs as part of the prestigious “Dean’s Leadership Series.” He also toured Google’s New York office, exploring opportunities for collaboration in technology and innovation.

The President departed for New York on September 20, leading a high-level government delegation. His participation at UNGA 79 marks his first appearance at the assembly as Head of State, a visit that coincided with the Maldives’ 59th anniversary as a member of the United Nations.
