President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has expressed confidence in the bright future of Maldivian farmers, reiterating his administration’s commitment to advancing the agricultural sector. The President made these remarks while addressing residents of Nilandhoo Island during his visit to several islands in Huvadhu Atoll on Wednesday.
During his speech, President Muizzu highlighted that the government is focused on enhancing food security and securing investments to bolster the agriculture industry. He emphasized that agriculture plays a crucial role in diversifying the national economy, adding that local farmers stand to benefit from the sector’s growth.
The President also addressed the need for expanded healthcare services on the island, assuring residents that the development of the island’s health center is a priority. He pledged to ensure that Nilandhoo residents have access to comprehensive medical services.
In addition to healthcare improvements, President Muizzu announced that stalled projects, including the island’s water and sewerage network and harbor development, would soon resume. He also promised the construction of a multipurpose hall for the island’s school, reaffirming that this pledge, along with other commitments made during his campaign, would be fulfilled.
“The progress of Nilandhoo’s development is a top priority, and these projects will be realized to improve the quality of life for residents,” President Muizzu stated, emphasizing his administration’s focus on ensuring that developmental efforts translate into tangible benefits for the community.
The President’s visit to Nilandhoo is part of a broader tour of Huvadhu Atoll aimed at engaging directly with island residents and addressing their concerns while outlining the government’s plans for sustainable growth and infrastructure development.
