The Maldives and Estonia have signed a significant agreement to bolster political dialogue and enhance bilateral cooperation, marking a milestone in their diplomatic relations.
The agreement, which outlines a framework for regular political consultations, aims to facilitate open and sustained dialogue on regional and global issues of mutual interest. It also promotes collaboration between the two nations’ embassies and permanent missions worldwide. Additionally, the agreement paves the way for the creation of joint working groups to address shared priorities.
The signing ceremony was led by Maldivian Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel on behalf of the Maldives. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed optimism that this agreement would deepen diplomatic engagement and foster closer ties between the two nations.
This latest development builds on nearly three decades of bilateral relations between the Maldives and Estonia, which first established diplomatic ties on March 22, 1994.
Officials from both nations have lauded the agreement as a step forward in strengthening mutual cooperation, particularly in areas of common interest on the global stage.
