The Maldives and Saudi Arabia have held high-level talks to strengthen investment cooperation, with a focus on attracting Saudi investments into the island nation’s infrastructure sector.
The discussions took place between Maldivian Minister of Construction, Housing, and Infrastructure, Dr. Abdulla Muththalib, and Saudi Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail during Dr. Muththalib’s visit to Riyadh for the fourth edition of the Real Estate Future Forum.
According to the Maldivian Housing Ministry, the talks centered on enhancing investment projects between the two nations and exploring new avenues for collaboration in infrastructure and real estate development.
As part of the visit, Minister Muththalib also participated as a key speaker in a panel discussion titled “New Frontiers: Balance and Innovation in the Real Estate Landscape.”
Saudi Arabia has been a longstanding development partner of the Maldives, with ongoing projects such as the expansion of Velana International Airport (VIA) among several Saudi-funded infrastructure initiatives in the country. The latest discussions signal further efforts to bolster economic ties and investment partnerships between the two nations.
