The Ministry of Social and Family Development has officially opened nominations for the prestigious Rehendhi Award, aimed at honoring the outstanding contributions of women across various sectors of national service. Nominations will be accepted until 2:00 PM on May 4.
The Rehendhi Award celebrates the significant role women play in national development, societal building, and advancing women’s rights. The award acknowledges individuals, institutions, associations, and organizations that have made impactful efforts in empowering women and advocating for gender equality.
Nominations for the Rehendhi Award can be submitted by the individuals themselves or proposed by others. Women’s development committees, associations, and organizations are also encouraged to nominate deserving candidates. Detailed instructions and a list of required documents for the nomination process can be found on the nomination form.
The awards will be presented in four categories:
- Leadership and Governance
- Economic Empowerment
- Social Empowerment
- Field of Work or Non-Traditional Roles
Interested applicants can download the application forms and review the award rules on the Ministry of Social and Family Development’s official website. Additionally, forms are available at the Ministry’s offices and affiliated institutions. While applications can be submitted online or via email, those opting for in-person submissions can visit the Ministry’s counter at the Umar Zahir Office between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM on working days.
The Rehendhi Award aims to spotlight the achievements and hard work of women who continue to inspire progress and positive change in the Maldives, while also encouraging the further development of women’s roles in society.
