In his remarks, Minister Khaleel emphasized that the establishment of a permanent diplomatic mission in Türkiye reflects the Maldives’ commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation. He noted that the embassy will serve as a vital platform to promote economic engagement, cultural exchange, and people-to-people connectivity. Additionally, it will provide essential consular support to the growing Maldivian community residing in Türkiye.

Minister Ersoy echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the close and sincere relationship shared by the two countries. He noted that bilateral ties have expanded over the years to include a range of sectors such as tourism, education, culture, and trade.

The ceremony was attended by several notable figures, including Dr Ümmügülşhen Öztürk, Chairperson of the Maldives–Türkiye Interparliamentary Friendship Group, and senior officials from both governments, including Dr Hala Hameed and Senior Under Secretary Hassan Hussain Shihab from the Maldivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
