The Ministry of Higher Education, Labour, and Skills Development has opened applications for the Future-Ready Youth Programme, a nationwide training initiative designed to equip young Maldivians with industry-relevant skills critical to the country’s economic development.
Part of the Maldives: Enhancing Employability and Resilience of Youth (MEERY) project, the programme is funded by the World Bank and aims to train at least 1,000 youth in key economic sectors. The courses are open to Maldivians aged 16 to 35 and will be delivered across 16 islands.
All training is fully funded, certified at National Certificate Level 3, and officially approved by the Maldives National Skills Development Authority (MNSDA). Courses include both theoretical and hands-on learning, enabling participants to gain job-ready skills in high-demand fields.

Applications can be submitted via the Job Center portal of the National Careers Service.
The programme is part of a broader government effort to strengthen the local workforce, reduce reliance on foreign labour, and prepare Maldivian youth for the challenges and opportunities of a modern, diversified economy. Since its launch in January 2025, the Future-Ready Youth Programme has emerged as a key pillar in the government’s youth development strategy.
