MWSC Launches Enhanced Mobile App to Revolutionize Utility Services

The Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has unveiled a significantly upgraded version of its mobile application, introducing a wide array of digital services aimed at improving customer experience and streamlining utility management across the nation.

The launch marks a major milestone in MWSC’s digital transformation agenda and aligns closely with the Government’s ambitious “Maldives 2.0” initiative — a national drive to modernize public service delivery through technology.

The enhanced application consolidates all existing features from the previous MWSC app and e-portal into a single, streamlined platform. With an intuitive and user-friendly interface, the new app simplifies access to water and sewerage services, offering greater control and convenience for users.

The launch event was attended by Chairperson Shamhooza Ahmed, Managing Director Abdul Matheen Mohamed, and other senior board and management officials, reflecting the strategic importance of the platform in MWSC’s long-term vision for innovation and service excellence.

A standout feature of the new app is its integration with e-Faas, the Maldives’ national digital ID platform. This integration allows secure and simplified login, automatically linking utility meters registered under a user’s name and accelerating the account setup process.

Among the key improvements is a full-service application and payment system built into the app. Users can apply for new services, track application progress in real time, and make secure payments, all in one place. The smart meter telemetry function offers daily meter readings, consumption trends, and predictive billing insights — empowering customers to manage usage and anticipate future charges.

The upgraded platform also introduces a photo-verified reading submission feature, enabling users to request updated bills at any time. A new Multi-Pay option allows customers to pay several bills — across one or multiple accounts — in a single transaction. Additionally, the app provides access to a year’s worth of account statements for convenient financial tracking.

Speaking at the launch, Managing Director Abdul Matheen Mohamed emphasized that this platform marks the start of MWSC’s broader journey toward digital innovation. He noted that the app not only enhances customer experience but also supports the Government’s wider goals of improving service delivery through accessible and sustainable digital infrastructure.

The new MWSC mobile app is now available for download via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. For additional support or inquiries, customers are encouraged to contact the MWSC Customer Service Hotline at 105 or visit the official website at www.mwsc.com.mv.
