President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has embarked on a three-day visit to Alifu Alifu Atoll, continuing his commitment to directly engage with island communities across the Maldives.
The President’s itinerary includes visits to eight inhabited islands—Thoddoo, Rasdhoo, Ukulhas, Mathiveri, Bodufolhudhoo, Feridhoo, Maalhos, and Himandhoo—where he is scheduled to meet with Island Councils, Women’s Development Committees (WDCs), and local residents.
According to the President’s Office, the trip will provide an opportunity for the Head of State to hear first-hand from communities about their development needs, infrastructure priorities, and day-to-day concerns. Alongside formal meetings, President Muizzu is expected to interact directly with residents to inquire about their wellbeing and gather feedback on government initiatives.
The President is accompanied by a delegation of Cabinet Ministers and senior officials from key government institutions, ensuring that discussions on community needs can be addressed with the relevant authorities present.
This visit is part of President Muizzu’s broader nationwide initiative to tour all atolls. By engaging directly with local councils at island, atoll, and city levels, the President aims to strengthen collaboration between government and communities while aligning national development policies with local priorities.
