Children Inspired at Special Event Marking First International Engineers’ Day in Maldives

A colourful children’s evening was held at Usfasgandu, Malé, on 12 September to mark the Maldives’ first-ever International Engineers’ Day, with activities designed to spark curiosity about engineering among the nation’s youngest learners.

The event, organised by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure, drew families from across the capital. From 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., children explored interactive stalls, played educational games, and engaged with hands-on exhibits that highlighted different branches of engineering. Institutions showcased their role in infrastructure, energy, transport, and urban development, offering young visitors a glimpse into how engineering shapes daily life.
