FDC Connects Power to Three More Towers in Aman Udhares Housing Project

The Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has successfully connected electricity to three additional towers of the Aman Udhares housing project in Hulhumalé Phase II, marking another milestone in one of the nation’s largest residential developments.

According to FDC, Towers 11, 12, and 13 have now been supplied with electricity, while water services are expected to be completed within the coming week. The corporation also confirmed that the handover process for these towers is currently in progress.

The Aman Udhares project, comprising 2,304 apartments spread across 16 towers, is among the most significant housing initiatives undertaken in the Maldives. The handover of completed units began in September last year, with FDC continuing to deliver apartments to eligible recipients in phases.

In line with the government’s broader efforts to make housing more affordable, a rent subsidy scheme has also been introduced for Aman Udhares tenants who make timely rent payments. Under this revised plan, rent for three-bedroom units has been reduced to MVR 9,000 per month, while two-bedroom units are now priced at MVR 7,000 — a notable decrease from the earlier rates of MVR 13,000 and MVR 9,000, respectively.

The project continues to play a key role in addressing the housing needs of residents in the Greater Malé Region, with FDC reaffirming its commitment to completing all remaining towers and ensuring smooth occupancy for all beneficiaries.
