President Extends Warm National Day Greetings to Qatar’s Leadership

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed heartfelt National Day greetings to the leadership and people of Qatar, reaffirming the Maldives’ commitment to strengthening its close bilateral partnership with the Gulf nation.

In separate letters addressed to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of Qatar, and His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, President Muizzu extended warm wishes on behalf of the Government and people of the Maldives.

The President emphasised that Qatar remains a valued development partner and highlighted the deep ties of friendship, cooperation and shared values that have long connected the two countries. He also noted that the establishment of the Maldives’ Embassy in Doha earlier this year marked a significant milestone, opening new avenues for enhanced collaboration across various sectors.

President Muizzu expressed his appreciation for Qatar’s consistent support for the Maldives and conveyed his best wishes for the continued health and wellbeing of Qatar’s leadership, as well as peace and prosperity for the Qatari people.

In an additional message shared on his official X account, President Muizzu reiterated Maldives’ felicitations, expressing confidence that the already strong bilateral relations will continue to flourish. He also acknowledged Qatar’s meaningful contributions to the Maldives over the years, describing them as invaluable to national development.

Qatar celebrates its National Day annually on 18 December, marking a historic moment of unity and national pride for the country.
