Maldives Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdulla Khaleel has conveyed official greetings to India’s Minister of External Affairs Dr S. Jaishankar to mark the 77th Republic Day of India.
In his message, Dr Khaleel extended warm wishes on behalf of the Maldivian government and its people to the Government and citizens of India, noting that Republic Day stands as a reminder of India’s long-standing commitment to democratic principles and inclusive national development.
The Foreign Minister also underscored India’s role as the world’s largest democracy, highlighting its deep civilisational roots and historical legacy. He said India continues to play a vital role in fostering peace, stability, and regional cooperation.
Reflecting on bilateral ties, Dr Khaleel pointed to the steady progress achieved in Maldives-India relations, stating that recent diplomatic engagements have further reinforced the close partnership between the two countries. He noted that these interactions demonstrate a relationship grounded in mutual trust, shared understanding, and strategic alignment.
Dr Khaleel concluded his message by extending personal well-wishes to Dr Jaishankar for good health and happiness, while expressing hope for the continued advancement and prosperity of the Indian people.
