Maldives Sets New Single-Day Tourism Record with Over 10,250 Arrivals

The Maldives has set a new milestone in its tourism sector after recording 10,253 tourist arrivals on 1 February 2026, marking the highest number of visitors ever registered in a single day.

Official statistics show that the figure exceeds the previous daily record of 10,213 arrivals, which was achieved on 10 February 2024, underscoring the continued momentum in the country’s tourism recovery and expansion.

The latest record comes on the back of a strong start to the year, following the Maldives’ highest-ever January arrival total, achieved just days earlier. Tourism authorities say the sustained influx of visitors into early February reflects steady demand across major source markets, supported by consistent flight connectivity and capacity during the peak winter travel season.

Officials noted that the performance is in line with the broader growth trend observed over recent months, with arrivals remaining resilient despite global economic uncertainties. They added that continued market diversification and airline operations have played a key role in maintaining high visitor numbers.

The record-breaking daily arrival figure further reinforces tourism’s central role in the Maldivian economy and signals a strong outlook for the remainder of the year, particularly as peak season travel continues.
