Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has recently initiated an in-house training program for its Fuel Services personnel at Velana International Airport. This marks a significant shift from the company’s previous reliance on external consultants for training.
The new program is designed to leverage the extensive experience of long-serving senior staff, who will impart essential technical knowledge and skills to the operational team. The aim is to enhance the capabilities of MACL’s Fuel Services division by utilizing the expertise already present within the organization.

The training initiative is backed by a comprehensive Training Manual and led by Trainers from the Fuel Services management team. These resources have been meticulously reviewed and approved by MACL’s Learning & Development department to ensure they meet all necessary standards and internal requirements.
The initial training sessions have concentrated on Quality Control and Into-Plane Operations, while training materials for Depot Operations and Maintenance are still being developed.
In a demonstration of their support, MACL’s CEO and Managing Director, Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, along with Deputy Managing Directors Mohamed Lamaan and Mujthaba Latheef, visited the New Fuel Farm to observe the ongoing training sessions.
This new initiative is part of MACL’s broader strategy to strengthen its internal capabilities and foster a culture of continuous improvement, aiming for operational excellence across all levels of the organization.
