The Bank of Maldives (BML) has made a significant contribution to youth health and environmental sustainability by donating 300 bicycles to children aged 14 to 17 across six islands. The donation, made in collaboration with six local organizations, aims to promote active lifestyles and encourage eco-friendly transportation among Maldivian youth.

The bicycles were distributed to the islands of Dhidhoo (Haa Alif Atoll), Eydhafushi (Baa Atoll), Maafushi (Kaafu Atoll), Manadhoo (Noonu Atoll), Mulah (Meemu Atoll), and Vilimale’. BML noted that the initiative is part of the bank’s commitment to supporting community development and fostering positive lifestyle choices for young people.
Highlighting the program’s objectives, BML representatives emphasized the importance of healthy habits and environmentally conscious transport solutions, particularly for the younger generation. By encouraging the use of bicycles, the initiative not only aims to improve physical fitness but also reduce reliance on motorized vehicles, aligning with broader goals of environmental sustainability.
BML’s donation reflects its ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility and community well-being, underscoring the bank’s role in supporting initiatives that benefit Maldivian society.
