The meeting, which took place at the Innamaadhoo School, aimed to identify key priorities and map out solutions to the challenges faced by the local community.

During the dialogue, council members outlined several urgent concerns, including the need to expedite the long-awaited harbour development project and implement effective shore protection measures. He emphasized the government’s determination to accelerate the harbour project and address infrastructure deficits. “These are not just promises; we are taking immediate steps to translate these plans into action,” the President affirmed.

To provide clarity and reinforce his commitment, the President was accompanied by Cabinet Ministers and senior government officials, who presented detailed plans for addressing the island’s developmental requirements.

Council members also stressed the importance of improving the water network’s efficiency and finding a sustainable solution to ensure the community has uninterrupted access to clean water. On education and healthcare, they appealed for urgent measures to expand facilities to meet the growing needs of the population.

The meeting underscored the government’s focus on engaging directly with local leaders to ensure that development projects align with community priorities. The President reiterated his administration’s pledge to work closely with Innamaadhoo’s leadership, ensuring that progress is both swift and meaningful.
