She emphasized the importance of cultivating interest in broadcasting among younger generations, noting that the sector plays a significant role in shaping national identity and cohesion. “It is crucial to educate students about the broadcasting field and encourage their aspirations,” she said, adding that initiatives like the Broadcasting Commission’s art competition can inspire students to consider careers in this vital industry.

The First Lady also stressed the need for youth to appreciate the cultural and national significance of television and radio broadcasting, which she described as key pillars of communication and national integration.

During the event, she presented the top awards to winners of the art competition and participated in a commemorative photo session. She later toured the “Visions of the Future” artwork exhibition, which showcased creative interpretations of the broadcasting sector’s impact and potential.

The art competition, aimed at engaging young minds and highlighting the role of broadcasting in nation-building, reflects the Maldives’ commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a deeper understanding of the media’s influence on society.
