President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu extended heartfelt wishes to Maldivian families on the occasion of the International Day of Families, emphasizing the pivotal role of strong familial bonds in shaping the nation’s future.
In a message shared Tuesday, President Muizzu underscored the importance Islam places on nurturing and preserving family relationships. He noted that the prosperity and well-being of every Dhivehi family are not only fundamental to individual happiness but also key to national development.
“The stronger, more prosperous and more comfortable the Dhivehi families, the faster the country’s progress and the brighter the future,” the president said, calling for collective strength and harmony among Maldivian households.
He also offered prayers for the continued success and unity of families across the country, expressing his hopes for their enduring resilience and blessings. “May Allah grant victory and success to every Dhivehi family,” he added.
Observed globally on May 15 each year, the International Day of Families serves as a reminder of the value of family structures in social development and highlights the need for policies that support and protect them.
President Muizzu’s message reflects his administration’s broader focus on social welfare and cohesive community development, aligning with ongoing government initiatives to support families through education, housing, healthcare, and social programs.
