Power Connections Completed for 4,000 FDC Housing Units in Hulhumalé Phase II

Electrical works have been fully completed for the 4,000 housing units developed by the Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) in Hulhumalé Phase II, clearing a major milestone ahead of residents moving into the new apartments, the State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has confirmed.

According to STELCO, all technical aspects of the electrical installations have now been finalised. This includes internal cabling, panel connections, and the supply of electricity to individual apartments. The utility provider said testing has also been completed, confirming that the power systems are ready for use.

With the completion of electrical works, all essential utilities at the housing project are now in place. The Malé Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) had earlier finished installing water and sewerage connections to the apartments, ensuring full basic service availability for residents.

Meanwhile, FDC has already begun the handover of apartment keys to beneficiaries and is working to complete the process by the end of this month. Many families have already started moving into their new homes, while others are making preparations to relocate ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.

Surrounding infrastructure development is also continuing in the area. The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) is currently carrying out road construction and related infrastructure works, alongside efforts to introduce additional services to support the growing residential community.

Officials say the completion of utility connections marks a significant step toward fully operationalising the Hulhumalé Phase II housing development, as thousands of families prepare to settle into the new neighbourhood.
