President Muizzu appoints new diplomats

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed new diplomats to represent the Maldives in foreign nations, aiming to bolster international relations.

Effective immediately, Shiuneen Rasheed has been named the High Commissioner to Bangladesh. Shiuneen brings extensive experience from her previous role as Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Lieutenant General (Retd) Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef has been appointed as the Ambassador to Türkiye. With a background in national security and former service as Chief of Defence, Abdul Latheef brings strategic expertise to his new diplomatic role.

Mohamed Thoha, initially approved by Parliament as Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, will now serve as the High Commissioner to Pakistan.

All appointees hold their positions at the State Minister level.
