The Rasmale’ project is set to reclaim a total 1,150 hectares of land—significantly more than the combined area of the two phases of Hulhumalé. This initiative represents one of the largest land reclamation efforts undertaken in the country.

CMC has completed dredging 29 hectares of the Rasmale’ project, which aims to reclaim a total of 1,150 hectares.

Government officials have outlined that Rasmale’ will be developed as an environmentally sustainable, climate-resilient, and low-carbon island city. The goal is to address housing needs and improve accessibility to services, creating a more inclusive urban environment.

CMC, a UK-based company with experience in Maldivian infrastructure projects, is also involved in the Hulhumalé Phase 3 land reclamation project, where they are dredging 64 hectares of land.
