Ahmed Nashid, with his extensive background in law enforcement, has held key roles in the police force, including serving as a member of the Police Board and as Assistant Commissioner of Police. Abdulla Nashid, a seasoned professional in education and management, holds a Master’s degree in School Management from the Regional Institute of Education in India. He has held managerial positions in various departments of Aasandha Company, the Maldives’ national health insurance provider. Abdulla’s management expertise and familiarity with organizational structures will be crucial in the commission’s efforts to root out corruption within public institutions.

The two new members officially took their oaths in a ceremony attended by Supreme Court Justice Hon Uz Mahaz Ali Zahir, who administered the oath of office. Following the ceremony, President Muizzu handed over their letters of appointment, officially marking the start of their roles in the Anti-Corruption Commission.

This latest move comes as part of the government’s broader strategy to combat corruption and promote good governance in the Maldives. With these new appointments, the ACCM is further strengthened, and the nation’s efforts to improve public sector integrity are expected to gain additional momentum.
