Pakistani Navy Ship PNS Aslat Arrives in Maldives for Four-Day Visit

The Pakistani Navy Ship (PNS) Aslat has arrived in the Maldives for a four-day official visit, aiming to further strengthen bilateral ties between Pakistan and the Maldives.

The vessel received a warm welcome from the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) upon arrival, marking another step in the long-standing defense and diplomatic cooperation between the two nations.

According to the Pakistani Embassy in the Maldives, the visit will include various activities of mutual interest, reinforcing military collaboration between the Pakistan Navy and MNDF. The program will allow naval personnel from both countries to exchange knowledge and share professional experiences.

As part of the visit, PNS Aslat’s Commanding Officer, Captain Mohamed Azhar Akram, is scheduled to meet with senior MNDF officials to discuss defense cooperation and maritime security.

PNS Aslat is a Zulfiquar-class F22P frigate, serving as the fourth vessel of its class in the Pakistan Navy fleet. The warship was constructed at Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works (KS&EW) Ltd in Pakistan and was officially launched on June 16, 2011.

The visit highlights the ongoing military cooperation between Pakistan and the Maldives, reflecting both nations’ commitment to regional maritime security and defense partnerships.
