The State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has launched a merit-based scholarship programme for Maldivians, offering opportunities to pursue undergraduate degrees in engineering at universities in the United Kingdom.
The initiative, aimed at students under the age of 24, will award one scholarship for a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, while two recipients will be selected for mechanical engineering degrees.
Applicants must have achieved two A and one A* in their A-Level examinations, with subjects including Mathematics, Physics, and either Further Mathematics, Chemistry, or Computer Science. Equivalent qualifications from the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme will also be considered.
Additionally, candidates must have obtained at least a Grade B/6 in GCSE/IGCSE English Language or hold an equivalent qualification in English proficiency.
