MIOT Hospital Launches Advanced Rehabilitation Services in the Maldives

The Madras Institute of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (MIOT) Hospital, a renowned multi-specialty healthcare provider based in Chennai, India, has officially launched its rehabilitation services in the Maldives, marking a significant expansion of its long-standing partnership with the island nation.

Having earned the trust of thousands of Maldivian patients over the years, MIOT is now bringing its world-class rehabilitation care directly to the Maldives. The new center, which offers a wide range of therapy and emergency care services, aims to improve accessibility and continuity of care for patients who previously had to travel abroad for such treatments.

According to MIOT, the facility will be staffed with a multidisciplinary team of specialists, including rehabilitation experts, neurologists, psychiatrists, physicians, and speech-language pathologists. Patients undergoing treatment in the Maldives will also benefit from real-time feedback and guidance from MIOT’s headquarters in Chennai, ensuring a high standard of clinical oversight.

The center is equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology and is designed to cater to various complex rehabilitation needs. Services will cover recovery and therapy for neurological conditions, sports injuries, cancer-related rehabilitation, and more. Additionally, treatment will be offered for conditions such as amnesia, attention deficit disorder (ADD), and sleep disorders, supported by dedicated physiotherapy and a resuscitation unit.

Beyond specialized rehabilitation, the facility will also offer general therapy and emergency services, broadening its scope to address a wide range of patient needs.

Hospital representatives say the launch of the rehab center is expected to not only enhance healthcare access for Maldivians but also deepen the ties between MIOT and the Maldives — a relationship that has grown stronger through decades of medical collaboration.

With this move, MIOT is positioning itself as a key healthcare partner in the region, offering Maldivians access to quality, specialized care without the burden of overseas travel.
