‘2ofUs’ Named First Local Ambassadors for Visit Maldives Campaign

Rising local music duo “2ofUs” has been officially appointed as the first-ever ambassadors of the newly launched Visit Maldives Local Ambassadorship Programme, an initiative led by the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) to strengthen tourism promotion through local artistry and culture.

Unveiled as part of MMPRC’s evolving destination marketing strategy, the programme seeks to engage creative Maldivians in representing the country’s rich heritage, vibrant culture, and natural beauty through diverse forms of artistic expression.

The appointment of “2ofUs” marks the beginning of this collaborative campaign, with the duo set to promote the Maldives as a premier travel destination during their upcoming international tour, which includes performances in India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and France. MMPRC also confirmed that the band has been invited to audition for the upcoming season of Britain’s Got Talent in September, further amplifying their global reach.

According to MMPRC, the Local Ambassadorship Programme invites more local artists to participate, encouraging individuals with a strong creative vision and passion for showcasing the Maldives to the world. Applicants are expected to demonstrate cultural authenticity, originality, and a commitment to upholding the values and spirit of the Maldives on international platforms.

The programme is a key component of MMPRC’s broader goal to diversify its promotional efforts by building stronger ties between tourism development and the local creative economy. By empowering Maldivian talent to take the lead in representing the nation, the initiative aims to foster deeper, more personal connections between the Maldives and global audiences.
