Maldivian High Commission in Sri Lanka Celebrates 60th Independence Day with Community Event

The Maldivian High Commission in Sri Lanka commemorated the Maldives’ 60th Independence Day with a lively and heartfelt celebration that brought together members of the Maldivian community in Colombo. The event, filled with cultural pride and unity, served as a poignant tribute to the nation’s six-decade journey of sovereignty.

Held in the spirit of national solidarity, the evening featured vibrant cultural displays, patriotic expressions, and reflections on the Maldives’ progress since gaining independence in 1965. Attendees included Maldivians residing in Sri Lanka, students, professionals, and friends of the Maldives who gathered to honour the historic milestone.
