As in previous years, the award will be presented across four distinct categories, recognizing individuals whose achievements bring national pride and further the Maldives’ development.

  • Category 1 honors those who have attained Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA) Level 10 qualifications through publication in international academic journals, and those completing Level 7 to 9 qualifications with top-tier academic performance and research.

  • Category 2 acknowledges individuals who have excelled internationally, either by achieving the highest ranks or receiving accolades in global competitions or exhibitions.

  • Category 3 is dedicated to innovators and problem-solvers whose academic research has offered practical solutions to significant national challenges.

  • Category 4 recognizes exceptional creativity and innovation that contribute meaningfully to national development. This category is open to youth between the ages of 18 and 35.

The Special Awards Committee urges all applicants to carefully follow submission guidelines. Documents must be properly attested, and academic certificates must be verified by a lawyer accredited by the Bar Council of the Maldives.

The President’s Award for Special Achievement is one of the highest civilian honors conferred by the Maldivian state and will be awarded during the official Republic Day celebrations later this year.
