The Managing Director of Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC), Hassan Amathulla, has visited the site of the ongoing 4,000-unit social housing project in Hulhumalé, known as Amaan Dhoadhi and Amaan Udhares, to assess progress on utility connections.
Accompanied by senior officials from MWSC, the visit focused on inspecting the site’s readiness for essential water and sewerage services. The team also reviewed the status of ongoing connection works, ensuring that installations are moving forward in line with the schedule set by relevant agencies.
MWSC noted that the visit reflects its commitment to providing reliable utility services for one of the Maldives’ largest housing developments. Officials stressed that timely completion of the utility infrastructure is crucial for the project, which will soon welcome thousands of new residents.
The 4,000-unit housing scheme is part of the government’s broader social housing programme, designed to ease the severe housing shortage in the Malé region. With multiple towers nearing completion, utility preparations are seen as a critical step before handover to residents.
MWSC reaffirmed that its teams will continue working closely with stakeholders to deliver safe and efficient water and sewerage services, underscoring its pledge to support community development.
