The State Trading Organization’s General Trading division has officially launched its annual Ramadan Baazaaru promotion, continuing a long-established tradition of offering seasonal discounts and special deals ahead of the holy month.
The 2025–2026 Ramadan Baazaaru was inaugurated on 15 December 2025 at STO People’s Choice. The opening ceremony was attended by Ahmed Shaheer, Chairman of the Housing Development Corporation and former STO Managing Director, along with senior STO officials and customers who gathered to mark the beginning of one of the company’s most anticipated retail events.
This year’s promotion will run until 18 March 2026 and includes wide-ranging discounts across household items, groceries, and consumer goods. Shoppers can access up to 50 percent off on selected home appliances and enjoy special reductions on essential products commonly purchased in preparation for Ramadan.
As part of the annual campaign, the STO Ramadan Baazaaru will also feature a digital coupon system. Every customer who spends over MVR 500 will receive an electronic coupon, with weekly gift hampers awarded to lucky winners. At the close of the promotion, a grand cash prize of MVR 100,000 will be drawn among all eligible coupon holders.
The promotion is taking place at STO People’s Choice in Malé, the Vilimalé outlet, and 11 regional STO branches across the country, ensuring island-wide accessibility to Ramadan savings.
STO General Trading noted that the initiative is aimed at easing household expenses during a period of increased spending for families. The Ramadan Baazaaru has historically attracted high public turnout, and STO expects similar nationwide enthusiasm throughout this year’s extended promotional period.
