DNR to Issue National ID Cards on Selected Dates During Final Days of Ramadan

The Department of National Registration (DNR) has announced special service days for the issuance of Maldivian national identity cards during the final ten days of Ramadan.

According to the department, ID card services will be available on four specific dates — 11, 15, 17 and 19 March — with counters open from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on each of those days.

To ensure accessibility during the busy holiday period, services will be offered at several locations across the Greater Malé area. These include the DNR Head Office in Malé, the Umar Zahir Building in Hulhumalé Phase I, Venarees Tower 2 in Hulhumalé Phase II, and the DNR office in Vilimalé.

Officials said the arrangement is intended to provide uninterrupted access to essential identification services while accommodating reduced working hours typically observed during Ramadan.

The department also noted that individuals requiring urgent support can contact its hotline at 7280368 for assistance.

The temporary service schedule comes as government offices adjust operating hours during the holy month, with authorities seeking to balance public service delivery with Ramadan observances.
