The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has announced an invitation for individuals interested in operating food trucks within Hulhumale, aiming to enhance culinary options and vibrancy in the community.
In a press release, HDC detailed the initiative, inviting developers to propose plans for food truck operations across 12 designated areas in Hulhumale. The corporation emphasized that the opportunity is open for operators to run food trucks on a fixed-fee basis, promoting a flexible model that benefits both parties involved.
“There is no specific model required for the food trucks, but proposals should align with HDC’s vision, objectives, and masterplan,” stated the press release, indicating a commitment to selecting proposals that best serve the community’s needs.
The designated areas for food truck operations include prominent locations such as the Hulhumale Ferry Terminal, STO Hotel area, Central Park area, HDC Head Office, and various other strategic spots aimed at maximizing accessibility and convenience for residents and visitors alike.
Interested parties are encouraged to submit their proposals by mail before the deadline at 2pm on August 6th. HDC highlighted that this initiative seeks to diversify food options available in Hulhumale, support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and create a vibrant urban environment akin to global cities.
According to HDC, operators selected will be permitted to prepare and cook food directly from their food trucks at the designated service locations, promising a dynamic culinary experience for the community.
