In a heartfelt response to the recent wave of violence gripping Russia, Ali Fauzy, Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation in Maldives, has issued a statement condemning the tragic events and expressing solidarity with the affected communities.
The statement, released today, addresses multiple incidents across Russia, including attacks in the region of Dagestan and Crimea, as well as a devastating assault on a concert hall near Moscow earlier this year. Fauzy expressed deep concern over the targeting of places of worship and law enforcement facilities in Dagestan, a region known for its historical inter-religious harmony.
“It is with deep concern that I note the recent incidents in the Russian region of Dagestan,” Fauzy stated. “Dagestan, a Muslim-majority region in Russia’s North Caucasus, has long been an example of inter-religious harmony.”
