President Dr Mohamed Muizzu will meet with residents of Maafannu on Thursday as part of the administration’s ongoing public consultations on shaping the future development of the Greater Malé Region.
Chief Spokesperson at the President’s Office, Heena Waleed, announced that the meeting is scheduled for 4 December 2025 at 8:30 p.m. at Thaajuddeen School. All Maafannu residents have been invited to participate and share their views.
The consultation is part of a wider government initiative aimed at gathering community feedback on urban planning and development priorities for Malé, Hulhumalé and Villimalé. Officials say the goal is to ensure that upcoming projects reflect the lived realities, needs and aspirations of local residents.
President Muizzu has already held similar community forums in Vilimalé and Machchangolhi, where he listened to public concerns and briefed residents on the administration’s development plans for the capital.
Beyond the capital region, the President has also been visiting inhabited islands across the country, meeting with island councils and community members to discuss infrastructure improvements, service delivery, and regional development needs.
The administration says such direct engagement will play a central role in shaping policies and projects that respond to the expectations of citizens throughout the Maldives.
