His appointment follows the dismissal of Fathimath Thaufeeq (Kudi) from the director position on May 22, alongside the resignation of Ayesha Noorain Najah, who served as the chairperson of MMPRC.

During the interim period, Mohamed Bassam Adam, Deputy Managing Director of MMPRC, assumed temporary leadership responsibilities.

Shiuree’s leadership is expected to steer MMPRC towards enhancing its marketing and public relations strategies, aiming to elevate the corporation’s profile and effectiveness in promoting the Maldives as a premier tourist destination.

The appointment signals a strategic direction for MMPRC as it navigates new opportunities and challenges in the dynamic tourism industry under Shiuree’s stewardship.
